Oh boy, would I've wanted this post to be a 'Ta-dah' one...
I almost finished my granny stripe blanket this weekend.
Yes, almost...
I bought the yarn for the blanket itself some time ago, but was in doubt on what colors to use for the edging. I believe every blanket needs a great edging to transform it from a crochet-WIP into a real grown-up blanket.
So I ordered some more yarn, thinking that the colors I chose would represent the rainbow-ness the blanket has to it, but not overdoing it. I finally got the yarn last Friday and enthusiastically started working on the edging.
But...
The colors looked dreadful together. It was al soft, peachy, yukness.... I'm sorry, there's no better word to describe it... It looked awfull... I'm not even going to post how the edging came out. I took out the last two colors and replaced it with the last piece of nice red yarn I had left.
That made it look much better, but I really really really want the pointy-thingies that Lucy @ attic24 used on here GS blanket:
I just didn't have enough yarn for that finishing touch...
Here's a quick peek at what it looks like at the moment. I sure hope that I can dress it up to a finished project real soon:
So, I'm sorry to say that my blanke still looks like an almost grown-up, but not there yet, blanket. And I owe you a 'Ta-dah', but we'll have to be patient, 'cause I have no idea when I'll be able to find someone to go the particular store where I bought the rest of the yarn to get me some more of the red that my blanket needs to be finished!
